About The Art Project
Quest of Sages is a multidisciplinary project following an artistic journey to photograph a portrait of one person from every country in the world.
Each person photographed for the project is asked to paint a line across a piece of blank paper.
Using the platinum palladium process, their portrait is printed on top of their painting, creating a collaborative work of art.
The Line that the World Painted
Once all 195 countries are completed, the images will be displayed as an art installation by placing the portraits next to each other and connecting the line segments together, ultimately creating one unbroken line the entire world painted.

The real-life journey to every country in the world, told through the lens of myth and legend.
Rather than documenting the quest through a traditional journalistic or autobiographical approach, the story of Quest of Sages is being told as an epic fantasy web novel series.
In this parallel universe, Sebastian, the story’s protagonist, embarks on a mythical quest to gather the wisdom of ancient sages by traveling to every country in the world in the same order as the real artistic expedition.
Along the way, Sebastian encounters legendary characters, reimagined historical figures, and mythical creatures drawn from the cultures represented throughout the photographic journey. Inspired by folklore researched during the real-world expedition, the novels form the foundation of an expansive fantasy universe where myths and legends from all corners of the world coexist.
With two new chapters published weekly, the series blends authentic cultural research with original storytelling to create a narrative that reflects not only the legends of the world, but also the personal and often solitary journey unfolding alongside them in real life.
