Message From The Artist

If you are reading this, I want to personally thank you from the bottom of my heart. This project has become more important to me than I could have imagined. What started as a unique idea and a reason to travel the world has taken over every fibre of my being. I can’t even write this note without feeling overcome by emotion. I truly believe in the power of this project. As I travel from country to country I meet more and more traditional communities. Many have never seen a gallery or an art publication. They know of their own cultural art forms, but nothing of conceptual and photographic mediums. Yet, when I explain the project, the concept of one simple line connecting us all, they get it. Humanity. One common thread that binds us. It’s so basic. It’s so beautiful.

The more I talk about the project, the more people comment on its potential. I feel myself changing. Beyond the artistic endeavor, there is a concrete cultural mission. Using innovative art and storytelling has the power to raise awareness to communities around the world who’s voices often go unheard. I’ve personally met with cultural advocates, political leaders and organization founders who make it their life’s goal to improve the quality of life of the communities I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know so intimately. I assure each one of them that this project will find its growth on a global scale. I assure them that I’m aware of the potential that this project has to make their people’s lives better. That’s why I created a nonprofit organization centered around the art project itself.

For the past year and a half I have dedicated my life to this project. I’ve researched and communicated with cultures whose existence I was completely unaware of. I’ve managed a team of volunteers and interns. I’ve organized travel to 20+ countries with the added bonus of juggling covid-19 travel regulations. I’ve grappled with the fact of not having any sense of home and sacrificing personal relationships for the sake of this wildly beautiful life. I did all of this while simultaneously working remotely for a client as my sole source of income. Every extra $1 I made went towards travel and art related expenses. Last month, that contract came to an end. I left for Africa with more uncertainty than I’ve had since the beginning of the project.

I am writing this note to ask for your support. Quest of Sages has grown too big and too important for me to sustain on my own. Currently I am working with a publishing agent to submit a book series proposal, collaborating with a grant writer to find art and nonprofit funding, compiling a proposal for corporate sponsorships, and building an online store for the sale of limited-edition prints and digital art sales.

I do believe things happen for a reason and I am at peace with losing my work contract. It has given me the freedom to pursue this project without distraction and allows for expedited growth. I assure you, this project will live up to its potential. Quest of Sages will be known around the world and the cultural/social impact achieved through conceptual art will set a precedent for those inspired to use their own passions to create genuine change in the world. This year will prove pivotal in the growth of the project. But in this moment, I need your help. If you are able to donate, it would help me finish my mission here in Africa and begin the implementation of a more sustainable future.

From wherever I may be in the world, to wherever you may be, again, I thank you.
